Borunov A.B., Ustinovskaya A.A. - Fictional worlds of fantasy and "magical" prose as a space for generating supertext pp. 171-175

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2024.3.69851

Abstract: In this paper, the author addresses the features of the supertexts based on the modern Russian novels, namely postmodern works, the genre of which can be defined as fantasy. One of the areas of research is the interpretation of the author's myth, as well as understanding the role of myth in literature. The subject of the study is an end-to-end code that unites the prosaic macrocycles of modern authors as a supertext unity. The object of the study is the macrotext as a format of a literary work in the literature of modern Russian writers. The authors consider in detail such aspects of the topic as the cross-cutting theme of an alien / adopted / unrecognized / illegitimate child and its connection with the genus and family, and the implementation of this theme in novels combined into trilogies or macrocycles. Both general scientific research methods and specialized philological ones were used in the article, namely: the method of qualitative content analysis and the narrative method, the methods of idealization and deduction are secondary methods of working with the material. The leading method was the interpretation of literary texts, which were the source of the parktic research material. The main function of the myth is to reflect a certain image of reality, being an add-on above it, containing specific semantic models and roles distributed among the characters, and also an expression of the author's position. The author's myth can be described as a playful, mosaic, inverse construct. The conclusions presented in the article can be used in further analysis of the work of modern writers, as well as when working with the concept of "author's myth" and studying the transformation of myth (both archaic and social, cultural, etc.) in modern postmodern literature. A special contribution of the authors to the research of the topic is the consideration of this motif in its diversified interpretation in various works and the connection of this motif with the onomastic code of works as one of the principles of the formation of a supertext.

Borunov A.B., Gereikhanova K.F., Shuiskaya Y.V. - Praesens Historicum as a stylistic method of removing Gender opposition in B. Akunin's detectives (based on the material of the works "Decorator" and "Sulazhin") pp. 142-148

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2022.9.37463

Abstract: The subject of the study is the use of the form praesens historicum ("the present historical") in texts in modern Russian. The object of the study is the function of the present historical, which has not been previously investigated in Russian science – its use as a tool for neutralizing gender opposition in texts written in the first person. B. Akunin's texts are used as the research material, in which the function of playing with the reader is realized with the help of praesens historicum. The authors consider in detail such aspects of the topic as the functioning of this form in the texts of the original genre, as well as its use as a factor of detective intrigue. The main conclusions of the study are the following. The praesens historicum form makes it possible to neutralize gender opposition by drawing a demarcation line between the narrator as a subject and the narrator as an object. Accordingly, in the text of a detective work, this allows you to strengthen the game with the reader, since both male and female characters can act as a potential suspect. In the experimental text "Sulazhin", the use of the real historical allows you to increase the number of plot options. The novelty of the research lies in the identification of the neutralization of gender opposition as a cycle-forming motive and a means of uniting the "Akunin universe" into a single textual whole.

Borunov A.B., Pinaev S.M., Sil'cheva A.G. - The "alien child" motif as a through code in the prosaic macrocycles of Boris Akunin and Dina Rubina pp. 175-182

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2022.6.38358

Abstract: The subject of the study is a cross-cutting code that unites the prose macrocycles of modern authors as a supertextual unity. The object of the research is a macrotext as a format of a literary work in the works of writers Dina Rubina and Boris Akunin. The authors consider in detail such aspects of the theme as the cross-cutting theme of a strange / adopted / unrecognized / illegitimate child and its connection with the clan and family, and the implementation of this theme in novels united in trilogies or macrocycles. Particular attention is paid to such an aspect of the motif as the onomastic code - distortion, change, re-voicing of the name and surname of the protagonist becomes a recurring motif. The main conclusions of the study are: a statement of the homological similarity of the supertextual unities of the works of contemporary prose writers, highlighting the motive of the interaction of the genealogical tree of the family with someone else's child, its self-identification as part of the family and woven into the fabric of the family and its history as the bifurcation point of the macrotext. A special contribution of the authors to the study of the topic is the consideration of this motif in its diversified interpretation in various works and the connection of this motif with the onomastic code of the works. The novelty of the study lies in the comparison of the works of Boris Akunin and Dina Rubina, which were not previously considered in a comparative aspect.

Borunov A.B. - Travesty as a cycle-forming technique of B. Akunin's “Fandorin Series” pp. 97-104

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2021.8.33711

Abstract: The subject of this research is a set of cycle-forming techniques used by Boris Akunin in creating “Fandorin Series” dedicated to the detective Erast Fandorin. One of such techniques is travesty, “gender transitioning” that manifests on the imagery and linguistic levels. A range of characters in the novels and stories about Fandorin disguise themselves as the representatives of the other gender; this is common to the serial criminals who have committed multiple offenses. On the linguistic level, travesty manifests in a way that some characters, having a good command of Russian language, deliberately confuse masculine and feminine genders in their speech or writing. At the same time, travesty is always accompanied by the typical detective motif: the criminal character is initially introduced to the text and conceals his true self, so the detective has foster efforts to track him down. The novelty of this study consists in determination of the two basic strategies of travesty used by B. Akunin in “Fandorin Series”, and as well as in following their realization in various novels and stories dedicated to Erast Fandorin. On both imagery and semantic levels, travesty is more characteristic to the “sealed” type of detective, when the suspect is among a limited scope of persons and gradually reveals his true nature. At the same time, the implementation of such strategy in some texts is consistent (the hero constantly changes his appearance / grammatical gender), while in other texts manifests sporadically.

Borunov A.B. - Variety of Speech and Methods of Measuring It in a Text (Linguostatistical Analysis) pp. 81-86

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2017.4.20751

Abstract: This article is devoted to particularities of using statistical methods in linguistic researches of natural language. The main purpose of the research is to describe the main methods of linguostatistical research that serve as criteria for speech variety in a text. The provisions of this research can be used in future research of both Russian and foreign languages to define and prove stylistic variety of speech using statistical models and formulas. The linguostatistical analysis described in this research completes traditional linguostylistic analysis. The methodology of this research involves analysis of research literature on the matter, descriptive method and destructive analysis method. The research provides brief but logically grounded formulas of speech variety that are usually called variety oefficients. In addition, the article presents the method of stylistic variety of both verbal utterance and written text as well as the method that describe results using mathematical formulas that define speech variety coefficients.

Borunov A.B. - Composition as the Author's Narrative Method (the Case Study of English Novels by R. N. Mitra)

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0749.2016.1.18011

Abstract: The subject of the present article is the analysis of the composition of a literary text as a narrative method and one of the stylistic expressive means. The author of the article studies peculiarities of the fulfilment of the stylistic potential and constitutive functions of composition in R. N. Mitra's novels. The object of the research is the peculiarities of composition of literary works by an American writer of the late XXth- early XXIst centuries Raghu N. Mitra. The actual material for the research is the four novels comprising the Manhattan Murder Mystery Series. The main research methods are the descriptive and comparative analysis that imply isolation of parts, elements and units of an object under research and viewing them as particular subjects of research. The novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the author views composition as a research object of linguistic stylistics. The importance of the research is caused by the fact that results of the research contribute to the development of the theory of literary work interpretation as well as solution of stylistics issues. In the course of the research the author concludes that one fo the most typical features of R. N. Mitra's individual style was a special modelling of time and space in his novels. Along with the straight-line narrative, R. N. Mitra also uses the restrospective and special temporal and local narration.
