Koldin, A.V. Principles of classification and methods of decoding sources of criminalistic information.

Abstract: Traditional criminal evidence classification divides evidence into two categories: original and derivative. The goal of this publication is to provide reasoning for additional categories of classification of criminalistic information, and typifying the methods of decoding accordingly. Author offers to single out “mixed” sources, which can be found in cases, when universal means of fixation and multi-step transformation of signal are used (for example, in case of processing a digital picture, while changing its colors, etc). Author also studies the problem of typifying the methods of decoding, singles out three main types, evaluates various methods.
