Abstract: The article considers the legal protection of forests and non-forest vegetation and analyzes the development of legislation on forest protection because recently the issues of forest protection and management have become the priorities of the environmental legislation. The author of the article also reveals the rights and responsibilities of citizens in the sphere of environmental protection as well as responsibilities for violation of the environment protection law
