Berezina T.N., Chumakova E.A. - The development of psychological models for predicting health conditions in retirement age pp. 1-18

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2021.1.34176

Abstract: The goal of this research lies in the assessment of predictive validity of psychological markers of health and work capacity of the persons of retirement age, and its comparison with predictive value of medical markers. The survey involved 496 retirees (386 women, 110 men) assigned to the Moscow medical center for cardiology. The research is based on longitudinal case study with two cross-sections. The section included the assessment of personality and life path indicators, medical examinations, psychological and medical predictions of health conditions. The second section included medical examination, assessment of changes in health conditions and preservation of life. The conclusion is made that psychological prognosis is more accurate in predicting preservation of life, while medical – in preservation of health. Psychological markers correlating with health conditions of younger and older retirees (family status, parental status, object of care, absence of bad habits, high level of activity and goal commitment, sociability) were determined retrospectively. Based on that, the author develops the strategies for organization of life path, which makes preservation of life and health more feasible. For young retirees, this is the strategy for combining the care for loved ones with high level of activity and quitting alcohol consumption. For older retirees, this is the strategy for combining care for loved ones with having a family and high level of activity. It is established that psychological markers of health have predictive value and can be recommended for experimental validation of their efficiency as an independent variable.

Berezina T.N. - Retirement stress as a psychophysiological phenomenon pp. 15-27

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2019.4.30910

Abstract: The subject of this research is the retirement stress in its two forms: pre-retirement stress as an anticipation of retirement, and post-retirement as the feelings emerging after reaching retirement. The goal of this work consists in studying the dynamics of indicators of biopsychological age throughout nine stages of the human life cycle (between 25 and 85 years of age). The author explores change of indicators of the relative biological and psychological aging, namely during the periods preceding retirements and following right after. ANOVA dispersion analysis was applied for assessing the veracity of results. Activation of the relative biological aging is determined in the period preceding retirement and the following one; however, after reaching 71 years of age, it balances out and starts matching the biological norm. The author explained such phenomenon as a result of psychological stress experienced by a person during anticipation, and later transition, from one social environment into another. The research also demonstrated disaccord between biological and psychological aging: psychological age of a person does not change at the brink of retirement; however, during the retirement, both men and women start feeling psychologically older.

Pogontseva D.V. - The Methods Used to Study the Phenomenon of Lookism in Modern Psychology pp. 21-26

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2018.4.27696

Abstract: The article is devote to modern research of the phenomenon of lookism, i. e. discriminaton of people based on their attractive or innatractive appearance. Taking into account the fact that external appearance discrimination issues are viewed by the foreign authors mostly from the point of view of lookism which signs may be discovered in different spheres of human life, the analysis of modern research demonstrates that lookism issues are not studied fully. Based on that, the author of the article sets a goal to make a review of modern researches devoted to different aspects of lookism as well as to analyze methods and methodologies that are used to study the phenomenon of lookism in Russia and abroad. The researcher focuses on different signs of lookism and describes methods that allow to study the phenomenon of attractive appearance as a set of characteristics without using a great number of psychological tests. The author also emphasizes the need to visualize the objects that are being evaluated and to develop a methodology that would cover different factors that influence discrimination of people with attractive or innatractive external appearance.

Rozin V.M. - Practices of corporeality as a social and semantic basis of the concepts of "body" and "corporeality" pp. 42-53

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2022.2.38198

Abstract: The article separates the ideas and concepts of the body and physicality. The statements about the physicality of V. Podorogi and Ya. Chesnov are quoted as interesting, but requiring reflection. Comparison of ideas about love in different cultures allows us to formulate a hypothesis about physicality. The basis for breeding and understanding the phenomena of the body and physicality, according to the author, are the practices of physicality. The author characterizes the practices of corporeality, which allowed the culture to form such prerequisites of the body as "flesh", "kind-form", "corpse", "bone", "belly". To analyze the formation of the concept of the body, the author takes two cases ‒ the history of the creation by Praxiteles of the sculpture of naked Aphrodite and the formation of the canon of ballet dance by Louis XIV, the Sun King. At the same time, he shows that in the process of becoming corporeality, one can distinguish, firstly, the crystallization of a new anthropological image of reality (for example, the feeling of being a god or a hero), and secondly, the alignment of other mental structures under this image of corporeality (the formation of bodies of love, dancer, musician, karate, etc.), inthirdly, the unfolding of a new practice of corporeality, and fourthly, the awareness of new formations of corporeality and their consolidation in the language. Building a new physicality, on the one hand, involves the invention of schemes and other narratives (metaphors, symbols, stories), which entails the formation of a new reality, on the other hand, the restructuring of feelings under the influence of a change in reality. The complexity of understanding corporeality, according to the author, is partly explained by the inclusion of the way of grasping corporeality in thought in the process of becoming bodies.

Abstract: This article is devoted to health as a basic socio-psychological conceptual category. The paper provides an analytical review of the history of understanding the phenomenon of health. It reveals all the diversity in the approaches and judgments of this conceptual category in social, psychological, biomedical and philosophical scientific developments, as well as in legislative documents. The article shows that the interpretation of the concept of health is not only an important medical and scientific aspect, but also has a key socio-psychological significance for the development of modern society and the formation of a person's personality. Using the example of coronavirus infection, the article substantiates the relevance of the semantic content of this conceptual category in our time, when health can no longer be considering separately from the state of the human psyche and those negative trends and various deformations of public consciousness that take place in the modern world. To change the situation for the better in this area, as shown in the work, it is possible only by forming in the public consciousness a fundamentally new concept of health as a fundamental socio-psychological conceptual category. The scientific novelty of this work consists in analytical studies of the concept of health as a basic socio-psychological conceptual category and the development on this basis of new theoretical approaches and corresponding definitions of the concept of health and its main derivatives: mental health, physical health, reproductive health and sexual health. The proposed interpretations, according to the author, have a more pronounced social and psychological determinant for the formation of a new worldview in modern society regarding the concept of health and its derivatives. As a result, of the new conceptual priorities, as shown in the work, it is possible to significantly strengthen the health of the population, increase the individual and collective level of immunity and, ultimately, improve the quality of the very realization of a person in all spheres of his life.

DOI:

Abstract: The methodology of the presented research reflects the complexity and interdisciplinarity of the stated problems and is deductive in nature. It is based on the analysis of the content of the concepts “personality” and “linguistic personality” as being more general in relation to the phenomenon of the secondary linguistic personality. The method of abstraction allows you to select from the general picture of the views and ideas about the structure and content of the personality, linguistic personality and secondary linguistic personality those of its components that can serve as specific objects and vectors of linguopedagogical activity. The novelty of the article is caused by the fact that attracting quite a lot in modern humanities phenomenon has been studied both in the psycholinguistic and linguodidactic context, while the former creates a substantive and methodological basis for the latter. It also seems to be a new approach, in which three related, but rarely found together, concepts are exposed to structural-content analysis and identification of connections: personality, language personality and secondary language personality.

Abstract: The article presents the empirical and theoretical background of a prospective experimental work to determine the effectiveness of a tactile-based rehabilitation intervention for foster families. The intervention is a system of training and accompanying foster parents in the process of mastering tactile contact with the child for 6 months. The methodological basis and description of the rehabilitation intervention are presented. The study will involve 135 families (mother-child dyads), of which 90 are substitute families, distributed into experimental and control groups by randomization. The age of children is from 4.5 to 6 years inclusive. The goal of rehabilitation is to contribute to the successful adaptation of the child in a foster family (prevention of interruption in the upbringing of the child). One of the factors influencing the quality of adaptation is the features of the child's cognitive self-regulation, the main parameters of which are determined: the ability to navigate in the flow of sensory signals and the quality of existing inhibitory processes, the amount of working memory and the nature of interference in it, cognitive flexibility and visual-figurative thinking, lateral preferences and the formation of the mental model. The indicators of measurement of the accepted parameters within the framework of the corresponding diagnostic methods are singled out. Secondary diagnostics will take place 6 months after the primary one.

Ivanova S.A., Nagibina N.L. - Modeling the Subjective Space

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2015.2.14082

Abstract: The research object is the subjective space (SP) "Self - Body - Soul". The research subjet is the color changes in the course of modeling of the subjective space in a standard situation and stressful situation. The research objectives are: to identify, describe and analyze the changes in the course of modeling of the subjective space "Self - Body - Soul" in a standard situation and stressful situation and to test the technique of the "color and graphic modeling of the subjective space." The computer technique "of the color and graphic modeling of the subjective space" developed by the authors allows us to compare different subjective perceptions about themselves, body and soul in standard and stressful conditions. The technique can be found at http://oprosi.su/krugi/ and is performed remotely and anonymously. The full color palette is offered to respondents for coloring each image of the body, soul and Self. A respondent can choose any color she or he likes. The respondent is asked to create a three-dimensional model of the "body-soul-self" using circles of different colors and diameters. The technique is done on the Adobe Flash platform (testing) and PHP + MySQL (processing of results). On top of everything else, the novelty of the research lies in the choice of respondents. "Sex trade" defines particular ideas about the interaction of body, soul and self under stress. The technique presented in the study opens up new possibilities for describing and modeling the subjective space with the help of color choices. The subjective spaces "self-body-soul" vary in a standard situation and stressful situation. The novelty of the research is a clear proof that any of the components of this space can be characterized by the black, gray or brown colors in a stressful situation. The following general tendencies have been discovered: Self is usually shown in green, body in red and soul in yellow.

Kazakov Y.N., Kolobaev S.A. - Experimental Research of the Phenomenon of Physicality in a Group of Sambo and Judo Athletes

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2015.4.14751

Abstract: The object of research in this article is the structure, contents and factors of the psychological and acmeological phenomenon of physicality of an athlete. The author considers physicality as a system of psychological processes, properties and states that arise in the course of personal experience and perception of physicality. The hypothesis of research is that there are psychological interrelations between psychological phenomena and physicality that cause resistance to stress in the structure of mental health of athletes. Pilot research of the physicality phenomenon in a group of professional sambo and judo athletes is conducted. Athletes aged 16-23 years old with 5-8 years of experience in sambo and judo have been selected to participate in the research. The standardized psychological techniques, acmeological techniques and the author's own techniques for studying the physicality phenomenon are used including the following: the semi-standardized interview, self-assessment of the physical parameters of mental health (Kazakov Yu.N., Kolobaev S.A.,) technique of ranging of physical parameters, testing according to Mini-Mult and FPI methods, O. N. Manolova's temperament and character questionnaire, acmeography of the level of self-actualization, self-realization and professional skills in sport (V. G. Zazykin,I. N. Noss) and self-actualization test (E. Shostr). The methods of the formative assessment and interpretation of the received results are also applied. The results of research ha brve beenought in a database (EXCEL) and exposed to the statistical correlation and factorial analysis by means of the IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program. The results demonstrate that the most relevant diagnostic methods of studying physicality are the semi-standardized interview, self-assessment and ranging of physical parameters. Options of correlations of the received variables and factor loadings of the physicaity phenomenon are shown. Problems of association of correlations in cognitive, emotional, behavioural, social and perceptual factors of studying physicality are discussed. Recommendations on personality development and optimization of the physicality phenomenon are made. The main conclusions of the conducted research include psychological interrelations of the structure, contents and factor loadings of the physicality phenomenon  with the level of resistance to stress and safety of mental health.

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2014.6.65048

Abstract: The author of the article would like to appeal to the sources of Christian interpretation of relations between soul and body and analyze a number of works written by Ambrosius (Saint Ambrose), a famous religious figure of the IVth century BC. According to the author, his works reflect the turn from the ancient philosophy to the Christian world view. Christian denial of the body is usually associated with the Platonic tradition. Nevertheless, a Christian and an ancient philosopher have different views on the world and the place of body and soul in this world. Even though relations between soul and body may look alike, they are explained by different reasons. Ambrosius who used anonymous quotations of Plato and Plotin acquired the image of a ‘Christian neoplatonist’. The author notes that this image creates many doubts so she suggests to view his works not from the point of view of a philologist who only studies general vocabulary but from the point of view of a philosopher whose main goal is to pay attention to peculiarities of Ambrosius’ Christian views and his contradiction to the previous intellectual tradition even if the same terms are used in both. As a result of comparing works written by Ambrosius and Plotin, the researcher finds out quite a number of contradictions that are to be taken into consideration when studying the dependence of Christian Patristics on Neo-Platonism. Ambrosius views the opposition between body and material not as a condition but as a consequence of Adam’s spiritual failure. He views the spiritual failure not as a part of the natural cosmic process but as a catastrophe of the nature. From the point of view of Ambrosius, human soul is not just emanation of transcendental Creator.

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2014.7.65239

Abstract: In his article ‘Sexual Anomie, Social Structure, Societal Changes’ the American sociologist and cultural philosopher Edward Tiryakian analyzed Durkheim’s theory of sexual relations as the basis of the social structure and focused his attention on sexual anomie as one of the most nettlesome problems of a modern human believing that these views fairly present the modern situation in the society and culture. Tiryakian views different aspects of the social regulation of sexuality and analyzes the nature and consequences of the sexual revolution in the Western society. Philosophical and anthropological issues of sexuality are viewed with reference to the dynamics of socio-cultural relations and processes, based on the theory of sexual anomie and analysis of the consequences of the sexual revolution and taking into account the gender-based approach. As a part of human nature, sexuality is interpreted as a complex and systematically organized phenomenon that has different functions and purposes. The cultural and historical phenomenon of sexuality is exposed to socialization and culturalization and at the same time as a natural element of human nature, sexuality has a great impact on the cultural formation and development. At the modern stage of historical development the problem of sexual anomie is of particular importance because it acquires a new axiological and socio-cultural meaning due to innovation processes of the sexual revolution that have led to fundamental and diversified transformations of the sexual component of human nature and basic aspects of human identity.
