Abstract: This is a biographical essay telling us how a
famous Austrian doctor and psychologist, founder of the
individual psychology Alfred Adler formed his personality
and scientific views. The essay was written by Carl
Furtmuller, one of Adler’s associates. Special attention
is paid at the role which Sigmund Freud played in Alfred
Adler’s life and scientific work.

Abstract: The article introduces the concept «dynamism»
which is defined as a feature of an electronic textbook
(ET). Dynamism consists in the ability of a relatively
rapid update (actualization) of a educational resource’s
content and structure with due account taken of newest

Abstract: The author of the article refutes the point of view
of professors A.F. Losev and I.S. Kon that ancient Greeks
had no notion about the idea of personality. It is shown
that belief of ancient Greeks in fate in no way relieved
the person of responsibility and that the necessity for the
citizen of the police independently to take decisions in
multiple changing situations presupposed a person with
intelligent self-consciousness and strong Self.

Abstract: The article describes the history of studies
of the psychological defence phenomena. It is shown
that since the beginning of the 20th century there have
been the two lines of studying the defence mechanisms,
- one is connected with psychoanalysis and the other
one is related to Alfred Adler’s psychology. The latter
is also called the holistic approach to understanding
and studying psychological defenses. The author of
the article traces back the history of formation of the
holistic approach and describes the structure and logic
of its development.
