Abstract: The article is devoted to P. Krusanov’s autobiographical myth. The author of the article has discussed the principles of designing an autobiographical myth in articles, essays, interviews and fiction of this writer. She has also identified the basic elements of Krusanov’s autobiographical mythology such as ironic self-presentation, the idea of literature as a form of leisure, writing as entertainment, and a writer as a person prone to self-indulgence and idleness. Using hermeneutic, receptive and comparative methods the author of article analyses deep discrepancies between created myth and true Krusanov’s understanding of functions of literature and his own writing tasks. In fact, literature is perceived by Krusanov as the field of discussing the most important issues such as national identity, national destiny, past, present and future of our country. This range of problems is at the heart of the novels "Where the Crown Does Not Lie" (and, accordingly, "The Night Inside"), "Bom-Bom, or the Art to Cast Lots", and "Angel Bite". The novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the author defines and gives a description of Krusanov’s autobiographical myth. The researcher makes conclusions about the reasons for modeling an autobiographical myth by Krusanov such as aspiration to avoid didacticism, and specific perception of literature in modern society. Krusanov’s autobiographical myth allows the writer to combine the jocular form with an expression of deep reflection on human personality and its inner structure, the issues of time and memory, national character and the future of our country.

Abstract: Great people are not only successful in their activities but also make very serious mistakes which often lead them to the tragedy. Famous people often lack love or appear to be the victim of the glory race. The author of the article thinks about the relation between socio-cultural environment and personal qualities, describes gaps and disadvantages of civilization and draws the reader’s attention to the problem of saving ethnoculture and non-linear cogitation.

Abstract: The subject of the research is such aspect of 'gender researches' as the construction of the 'gender mask'. Galatenko describes several methods of creating the male 'self' by female authors such as: creation of a pseudandry, male first-person narrative, selection of typical male literary topics (historical theme, for example). The author defines the type of literature that does not have a marked gender as 'out-of-gender' literature and analyzes names of female authors that do not speak of gender attribution such as Gippius (Zinaida) and Rowling (Joan). The author also describes a special group of female authors who do not want to mask themselves as males but frankly speak of their female gender and create specific women's fiction that has specific themes, style and genres (E. Morante, A. Banty, N. Ginzburg, V. Woolf, etc.). The author of the research article gives an insight into discussions of the term 'women's literature' in order to highlight drawbacks of existing definitions and offer her own definition of the term. The rationale of the article is caused by the fact that gender researches is one of the most nettlesome forms of modern researches. The scientific novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the phenomenon of construction of a male 'self' in female literature and female 'self' in male literature is quite an understudied topic today. The author of the research article makes the following conclusion: considering that the society had a negative attitude to a creative woman, it was quite a solution for a female author to mask herself as a man. However, female writers kept their 'woman's intonation' that was seen in certain specific features of the 'feminine text'.

Abstract: The object of the research is the concept 'THE WORLD'. The subject of the research is the explication of THE WORLD concept in an individual discourse of a postmodernist Viktor Pelevin. The purpose of the research is to define peculiarities of Pelevin's individual conceptualization of THE WORLD term in his novel 'The Love for Three Zuckerbrins'. The main source the research is based on is the National Corpus of the Russian Language. The author focuses on the analysis of the extracts with THE WORLD lexeme from the novel 'The Love for Three Zuckerbrins'. Applying the continuous sampling method, the author analyzes the extracts from 'The Love for Three Zuckerbrins' presented in the National Corpus of the Russian Language. The obtained data were analyzed with the use of the conceptual corpus approach. The scientific novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the author analyzes Viktor Pelevin's novel 'The Love for Three Zuckerbrins' from the point of view of cognitive studies and corpus linguistics. As a result of the research, Kholod describes Pelevin's individual interepretation of THE WORLD concept. The results of the research can be used in linguoconceptual, corpus-linguistic and literary discourses.

Abstract: The subject of the research is the work written by an Egyptian writer and critic Luis Avvad 'Foreign Student's Memories' where he described his student years when he attended Cambridge in the Great Britain. Special attention is paid to the analysis of his description of a foreigner's life in the Great Britain as well as the image of the Other represented by Avvad in his book. Within the framework of the present article, the Other stands for the entire European society of the 30s- 40s of the 20th century. The author of the article touches upon the issues of adjusting to new realities, analysis of the history of one's own country, comparison of cultures and customs and etc. The methodological basis of the research involves an in-depth analysis of the book written in Egyptian dialect. The author of the article also carries out a comparative stylistic and content analysis of the book to other works written in the travelogue genre of the Arabic literature. The novelty of the research is caused by the fact that neither Russian nor Arabic scientists ever before appealed to that book. Having analyzed the book, it is possible to trace back changes in the perception of self and others, way of thinking experienced by the writer during his years of life in Europe.
