Cherepanova M.I., Ebeling E.O., Chukanova T.V. - Factor model of the health of the Russian population in the border areas pp. 30-46

DOI:
10.25136/2409-7144.2024.2.69213

Abstract: The subject of the study included significant conditions and factors for maintaining health in the context of ensuring the demographic security of Russian society. The object of the study was the national health of Russians and its regional specifics. Methodological approaches included a civilizational approach to the analysis of global and regional social, economic, behavioral determinants of health and population motivation for health-saving technologies. A secondary analysis of the phenomenon of national health in the context of modern humanitarian research is presented. The novelty of the study is based on the analysis of regional practices of the population in relation to their health, the structure of morbidity, factors and reasons motivating the population to take care of their health and lead a healthy lifestyle. Behavioral models of the population's attitude towards health and a healthy lifestyle are described; the structure of diseases in the population of border areas was analyzed. The specifics of motivation to preserve health through employer investments are described. It was concluded that there are regional specificities that determine the quality of public health and, in some cases, provoke specific “medical” interregional and external migration (for example, the opportunity to change place of residence to improve medical care). The health of employees of an enterprise of any form of ownership is a decisive reproductive component of human capital. In the conditions of the modern world, the permanent experience of the socio-economic and financial crisis, the transformation of values, the population is expected to significantly adapt to the changed conditions of society. All of this requires optimal levels of health and vitality. In this context, health is essential for the full and effective implementation of educational or professional activities.

Cherepanova M.I., Maksimova S.G. - National security in the border regions of Russia: naturalization of migrants in the accepting communities pp. 74-92

DOI:
10.25136/2409-7144.2020.2.31109

Abstract: The subject of this research is a set of conditions and factors for naturalization and adaptation of migrants of six border regions of Russia. The object of this research is the migration process. Analysis of subjective assessment of migrants regarding the purpose and time of their stay in Russia is presented. The author describes the specificity of solution of organizational-administrative issues related to migrants’ stay in the region; forecasts and plans; status of migrants, degree of content with basic aspects of life in the region, level of confidence in basic social institutions, motivation to acquisition of citizenship of the Russian Federation. Research methodology includes the assemblage of structural-functional, riskological and political-legal approaches in the context of the phenomenon of globality of cross-border migration. The scientific novelty consists in the description of migrants’ adaptive potential in the new economic and sociocultural communicative space in accordance with the data on six border regions of the Russian Federation. Sustainable factors inherent to adaptation models of migrants in cross-border territories are highlighted. It is concluded that there are two basic processes ongoing in the regions. The first one is more evident and focused on the prevalence of cultural and national values of the accepting society among the migrants, and thus leading effective adaptation. The second one is associated with maladaptive process –  using accepting environment as a temporary economic and technological resource, lack of recognition of its cultural and value norms, reproduction of own traditional norm, and rejection of the attempts of acculturation.

Cherepanova M.I., Maksimova S.G., Nevaeva D.A. - Regional aspects of national security: the assessment of interethnic tension in the boundary regions of Russia

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0668.2016.3.17207

Abstract: The subject of this research is the specificity of the ethno-national processes and the functioning of the ethno-national policy in the Russian boundary regions: Altai Krai, Orenburg Oblast, Zabaykalsky Krai, Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Kemerovo Oblast, Omsk Oblast, and Altai Republic. The object of this research is the evaluation of interethnic tensions in the context of regional aspects of national security. Special attention is given to the analysis of specificity of establishment of the intolerant attitudes towards the representatives of various ethnic groups residing in the regions, as well as to the description of the causes and factor which justify these attitudes. The authors present a model of social factors stimulating the interethnic tension in the general regional selection. Scientific novelty consists in determination of the regional data on social factors that provoke the increase of interethnic tension, as well as hinder the interethnic integration in boundary regions of the modern Russian society. The authors conclude that the socioeconomic factors and particularly of the domestic character, which affect the crisis of social development, namely the spread of corruption and bureaucracy, indirectly create e negative social background that forms the conditions for the increase of interethnic tension. Among the most weighty and statistically significant determinants became the presence and incidence of terrorist threat in the regions; hooligan actions based on interethnic conflicts; physical abuse; judgment of interethnic marriages; unfriendly expressions about the people of other faith. And the less significant are the prejudices that impede the establishment of friendly relations, as well as rivalry for leadership between the representatives of different nationalities.
