Abstract: The subject of the research is the legal and organizational grounds of activities undertaken by the Department of Internal Affairs to resist extremism on the global network. The object of the research is the fight against extremism spread on the global network. In his article Baranov analyzes some issues that may arise in the process of discovering and preventing extremism on the global network, and gives recommendations on how to improve the legal regulation of anti-extremism activities on the global computer network. To achieve the research targets, the author has applied general research methods such as empirical and theoretical analysis, and special qualitative and quantitative research methods. The research methodology is based on the analysis of legal acts that regulate activities undertaken by the Department of Internal Affairs to fight extremism. In particular, Baranov analyzes the legal acts of the Russian Federation that constitute the legal ground for activities performed by the Department of Internal Affairs to resist the spread of extremism on the global network. The scientific novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the author summarizes the researches of such scientists as N. Voronovich, A. Salakhutdinov, N. Lopashenko, E. Kubyakin, V. Stukalov and E. Zaporozhetsev, analyzes the federal law and measures undertaken by law-enforcement activities to fight against extremism at this stage, and gives recommendations regarding how to improve the organizational and legal mechanism of regulating the activity of the Department of Internal Affairs in the sphere of fighting against extremism on the global network.

Abstract: The article is devoted to certain issues related to the process of legal regulation of internal affairs bodies activities aimed at prevention of extremism manifestations on the wide area network. The author analyzes internal and federal laws and regulations and offers measures to improve legal regulation of internal affairs bodies activities aimed at prevention of extremism manifestations on the Internet. The author also touches upon specific features of legal regulation of the aforesaid activity and defines pluses and minuses of legal regulation of internal affairs bodies activities in this sphere. The subject of the research is the legal acts regulating activity undertaken by internal affairs bodies in order to prevent and fight extremism. The methodological research basis includes dialectical materialism and general research methods based upon it such as analysis, synthesis, comparison and other methods used in legal sciences. The scientific novelty of the research is caused by the fact that for the first time in the academic literature the author covers the issues that may help to improve activity undertaken by internal affairs bodies to prevent and fight extremism manifestations on the wide area network. As a result of the research, the author has analyzed international and federal legal acts and offered measures to improve legal regulation of internal affairs bodies activities aimed at prevention of extremism on the Internet.

Abstract: The research subject is the statutory instruments, regulating the work of internal affairs bodies, aimed the prevention of and the struggle against extremism. The paper reflects the key aspects of legal regulation of internal affairs bodies’ work, aimed at the Internet extremism prevention. The author applies the range of sources, including the Mass Media materials and the examples of practical activities of internal affairs bodies in the sphere of the Internet extremism prevention. The author outlines the positive and the negative features of legal regulation of the work of internal affairs bodies in this sphere; reflects the specific features of legal regulation of cyber extremism combating. The research method is the normative-logical method. The research methodology is based on the dialectical materialism and the related general scientific methods of cognition, including analysis, synthesis, comparison and other methods of jurisprudence. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the consideration of the issues, related to the development of proposals about the improvement of the work of internal affairs bodies, aimed at the Internet extremism prevention. The formulated conclusions are based on the assessment of analytical data and the study of statutory instruments in this sphere. The author proposes the measures of improvement of legal regulation of the work of internal affairs bodies in the sphere of the Internet extremism prevention.
