Dushkin R. - Multi-agent systems for cooperative ITS pp. 42-50

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0730.2021.1.34169

Abstract: This article presents an original perspective upon the problem of creating intelligent transport systems in the conditions of using highly automated vehicles that freely move on the urban street-road networks. The author explores the issues of organizing a multi-agent system from such vehicles for solving the higher level tasks rather than by an individual agent (in this case – by a vehicle). Attention is also given to different types of interaction between the vehicles or vehicles and other agents. The examples of new tasks, in which the arrangement of such interaction would play a crucial role, are described. The scientific novelty is based on the application of particular methods and technologies of the multi-agent systems theory from the field of artificial intelligence to the creation of intelligent transport systems and organizing free-flow movement of highly automated vehicles. It is demonstrated the multi-agent systems are able to solve more complex tasks than separate agents or a group of non-interacting agents. This allows obtaining the emergent effects of the so-called swarm intelligence of the multiple interacting agents. This article may be valuable to everyone interested in the future of the transport sector.

Dushkin R. - On the path towards strong artificial intelligence: cognitive architecture based on a psychophysiological foundation and hybrid principles pp. 22-34

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0714.2021.1.34243

Abstract: This article describes the author's proposal of cognitive architecture for the development of artificial intelligence agent of the general level (“strong" artificial intelligence”). The new principles for the development of such architecture are offered: hybrid approach in artificial intelligence and psychophysiological foundations. The scheme of architecture of the proposed solution, as well as the descriptions of possible areas of implementation are given. Strong artificial intelligence represents a technical solution that can solve arbitrary cognitive tasks accessible to humans (human level intelligence), and even beyond the capabilities of human intelligence (artificial superintelligence). The areas of application of strong artificial intelligence are limitless – from solving the current problems faced by humans to completely new tasks that are yet inaccessible to human civilization or expect for their groundbreaker. This study would be interested to the scholars, engineers and researchers dealing with artificial intelligence, as well as to the readers who want to keep in step with modern technologies. The novelty consists in the original approach towards building a cognitive architecture that has absorbed the results of previous research in the area of artificial intelligence. The relevance of this work is based on the indisputable fact that currently, the research in the area of weak artificial intelligence begin to slow down due to the inability to solve general problems, and the majority of national strategies of the advanced countries in the area of artificial intelligence declare the need for the development of new artificial intelligence technologies, including the artificial intelligence of general level.

Dushkin R., Andronov M.G. - An intelligent algorithm for creating control actions on engineering systems of intelligent buildings pp. 69-83

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0714.2020.2.31041

Abstract: The article describes an algorithm for generating control actions on various engineering systems of an intelligent building, individually or in combination, within the framework of intelligent control of the parameters of the internal environment of such a building. The intelligence of the algorithm is due to the possibility of its autonomous operation and adaptability in relation to the parameters of the internal environment in relation to which the monitoring and control is carried out. The article provides a brief description of the algorithm, as well as a mathematical model for the selection and application of control actions. As a research method, a set-theoretic approach to modeling management processes was adopted, as well as BPMN notation for representing algorithms. The novelty of the issue under consideration is due to the use of a functional approach for the development of an intelligent algorithm, as well as the use of methods of distributed computing and computing on terminal devices within the framework of the hybrid paradigm of artificial intelligence. The relevance of the presented model is based on the need to translate the life cycle management processes of buildings and structures into the Industry 4.0 paradigm in order to increase their degree of intelligence. The article will be of interest to scientists and engineers working in the field of automation of technological and production processes. The present work is theoretical.

Dushkin R., Andronov M.G. - Utilization of the methods of artificial intelligence for organization of unmanned traffic pp. 51-58

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0730.2020.1.30722

Abstract: This article meticulously examines the questions of application of certain technologies of multi-agent systems theory in the area of unmanned traffic management for combatting the so-called “generative adversarial attacks” on the computer vision systems that are used in such vehicles. The article provides examples of generative-adversarial attacks on various types of neural networks, as well as describes the problems that arise when using computer vision. Possible solutions to these problems are proposed. Research methodology includes the theory of multi-agent systems applicable to automobile transport, which suggests using the so-called V2X-interaction, i.e. constant exchange of information between the vehicle and various actors involved in road traffic – a central control system, other vehicles, roadside infrastructure and pedestrians. The authors’ special contribution to this research lies in application of the theory of multi-agent systems for traffic arrangement with consideration of its actors as the agents with diverse roles. The novelty consists in employment of one of the methods of artificial intelligence in solution of the problems, obtained due to the use of other methods of artificial intelligence (recognition of images in computer vision). The relevance of the study is based on the detailed coverage of the questions of organization of unmanned traffic on training grounds and public roads.

Dushkin R. - To the question on identification and differentiation of a philosophical zombie pp. 52-66

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8728.2020.1.32079

Abstract: This article examines the task of identification and differentiation of a so-called “philosophical zombie” in order to form a set of operational criteria for determining the agency of artificial intelligence systems. This task can be viewed as one of the possible ways towards solution of a “hard problem of consciousness”. Despite the fact that the proposed approach alone does not solve the “hard problem”, it reveals certain aspects of neurophysiology, cybernetics and information theory towards its solution. The relevance of this task results from the more extensive implementation of artificial cognitive agents in human life – the boundary that distinguishes an intelligent creature from an artificial cognitive agent, endows an object with agency. Therefore, the development of more complicated artificial cognitive agents (artificial intelligence systems) would ultimately lead to a contentious debate on the topic. The author attempts to introduce the procedure of identification of a philosophical zombie and its restrictions, as well as explores the idea whether or not the artificial cognitive agents would obtain qualia. The article is valuable of those interested in artificial intelligence in all of its aspects, as well as in the philosophy of consciousness.

Dushkin R. - Intellectualization of the management of technical systems as part of a functional approach pp. 43-57

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0714.2019.2.29192

Abstract: The article discusses certain issues of intellectualization of control of technical systems in the framework of a functional approach to the construction of intelligent control systems for various objects and processes based on systems engineering and complex engineering. Intellectualization of management allows you to simultaneously get all the benefits of various paradigms for considering processes of various nature, as well as emergent to show new properties of the general approach to increase the degree of controllability and efficiency of operation of technical control objects (and generally practically arbitrary control objects of a technical nature). The application of the functional approach in combination with complex equipment in the intellectual management of such objects as transport, buildings, energy, allows us to transfer their operation to a higher level of service availability, sustainability, environmental friendliness and comprehensive development of not only the control object itself, but also the hierarchy of its super-systems - municipality, region, state. The scientific novelty of the proposed approach lies in the new application of the mathematical apparatus in terms of the general theory of sets and category theory for organizing a distributed computing system in the field of intelligent buildings and managing their internal environment. An article can become the basis for novelty of a higher order in the transition from a systemic to an integrated approach. Furthermore, a systematic approach is used with the use of a simplified cybernetic "streaming" scheme of functioning of an intelligent building.
