Dmitriev A.V. - On the fiefs of Swedish and Scottish nobility in Ingria during the 1582 – 1589 pp. 18-33

DOI:
10.25136/2409-868X.2021.2.32530

Abstract: This article is dedicated to the question of landholdings of the Swedish and Scottish nobility in Ingria during the 1582 – 1589, relying on the documents of compilation “Baltiska fogderäkenskaper”. The relevance of this topic is substantiated by the insufficient study of these sources, both in Russia and abroad, as well as absence of the national toponymic research using these materials. The article also provides a brief biographical description of multiple Swedish and Scottish landholders, the majority of whom are the unknown names in the Russian prosopography The article employs the narrative, historical-comparative, typological, structural, prosopographical methods. All of them underlie the prosopographical and historical-geographical research, which allow determining the particular types of historical figures. The scientific novelty consists in consideration of the problem of formation of landholdings in Ingria during the 1582 – 1589. This question is not covered in modern historiography. The author explores the unique historical, historical-geographical and toponymic material that reveals the prerequisites for the historical, political, economic, territorial and linguistic transformations that found reflection in Ingria of post-Stolbovo period, and established for almost a century. The presented materials are of practical importance for the toponymists and historians dealing with Russia-Sweden relations of the XVI – XVII centuries.

Dmitriev A.V., Kolesnikova A.O. - Thematic description of telescopic lexicon in light of anthropocentric lexicography (material for ideographic bilingual dictionary) pp. 45-64

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2020.2.32493

Abstract: The subject of this research is the principles and peculiarities of the development of bilingual thematic dictionary of telescopic words with consideration of structural and semantic peculiarities on various lexicographic levels. The goals consists in the description of dictionary entry as a fragment of the developed thematic bilingual dictionary of telescopic words. There are yet no analogues to such interlingual dictionary. The theoretical importance of this research consists in determination of lexicographic parameters and substantiation of principles essential for development of the structure of bilingual thematic dictionary of telescopic words. The scientific novelty lies the suggestion of particular techniques of dictionary description of telescopic units in the bilingual dictionary that contribute to improvement of theoretical and practical framework, the general lexicography, as well as its special section – neography. Analysis is conducted on structural levels of the dictionary (mega-, macro-, and micro-), taking into account its ideographic specificity. The article explores different ways of translating the telescopic units of the dictionary using the examples of neologisms of the various thematic sections. The author provides the examples of dictionary entries based on the material of modern telescopic words.

Dmitriev A.V. - Structural-semantic peculiarities of English-language telescopic units and their key models in light of derivational processes pp. 257-263

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2019.6.31615

Abstract: The subject of this research is the structural-semantic peculiarities of English-language telescopic units. Relevance of this topic is substantiated by the extensive proliferation of the various so-called compressive methods of word formation. Leaning on the 300 analyzed units, the author seeks to determine the most frequent derivational models of telescopes for future inclusion of the acquired data into the developed bilingual thematic dictionary. The complexity of analysis and interpretation of telescopic formation substantiates the ambiguity of interpretation of the term “telescopy” itself, as well as variation of approaches towards studying these units. The author’s special contribution consists in the attempt of thematic description of the revealed 300 telescopes with their future inclusion into the bilingual thematic dictionary; this may be also considered as contribution to the modern anthropocentric lexicocgraphy which central focus is the lexicographic description of neologisms. The main results consist in the following: determination of the construction model of telescopes; dominance of the model “initial rhythm” over “center of the code”; prevalence of trisyllabic words due to their maximum informativeness and relative shortness; conceptualization of the three types of meaning on the bases of structural-semantic analysis of telescopes – 1) new meaning does not integrate into the general concept and breaks down into the initial elements, 2) new meaning is more narrow than the initial, 3) creation of the completely new meaning somewhat cognate to the initial semantics.
