The scientific quarterly online publication devoted to Arctic and Antarctic research places on its pages materials on the results of studying climate, relief, soils, soils, permafrost, exogenous processes in the cryolithozone and cold regions, glaciers, snow, natural resources – seas and oceans, ice and shelves, coastal zones, atmosphere, cryosphere and the animal world, the development of these regions by man.

The journal publishes the main scientific results of dissertations for the degrees of doctor and Candidate of Sciences. In accordance with the nomenclature of scientific specialties of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the publication mainly specializes in the discipline "Earth Sciences".

The journal systematically publishes reviews of monographs, textbooks, and textbooks. There is an independent publishing Institute of scientific review. Each article undergoes a "double-blind review".

The journal assigns to all published articles an international universal identification number DOI of the CrossRef system,

The publication is included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and is registered in the Scientific Electronic Library (NEB).
